The Ondo State Security Network Agency, also known as the Amotekun Corps, has announced the deployment of 1,200 operatives across the 18 local government areas of the state to ensure security during the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
The Corps Commander, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, made this known on Tuesday while parading some suspects at the agency’s headquarters in Akure, the state capital.
Adeleye explained that the deployment was necessary to maintain the existing peace in the state, especially during the festive season, when activities and the influx of visitors are expected to increase.

“Black spots in the three senatorial districts of the state have been identified, and strategies have been put in place to forestall any form of criminal activities,” Adeleye said.
He also revealed that the Ondo Amotekun Corps would collaborate with its counterpart in Osun State to enhance security along the Ilesa-Akure corridor.
“In collaboration with other security agencies, Amotekun has developed strategies to ensure that the influx of visitors during the Yuletide period does not increase crime rates in Ondo State.
In the coming days, you will notice Amotekun personnel stationed at strategic locations and black spots across the 18 local government areas,” he added.
The commander reassured residents of the corps’ commitment to maintaining law and order throughout the festive period.
