Paul Akintelure, a prominent governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, has sadly passed away.
Akintelure had been vocal about threats to his life, both direct and indirect, prior to his death.
In a statement made on Thursday, March 21, 2023, Akintelure expressed concern over the escalating threats, stating, “The threats against me only strengthen my resolve to stand up for what is right and just.

I will not allow fear to dictate our path forward.”
Akintelure, who ran as the deputy governorship candidate of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) with Rotimi Akeredolu in a previous election, was known for his commitment to peace, progress, and unity.
Despite facing challenges, he remained steadfast in his belief in standing up for justice.
A medical doctor by profession, Akintelure hailed from Igbotako in the Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State.
His passing is a significant loss to the political landscape of Ondo State, especially as the build-up to the governorship election gathers momentum.
