The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, flag bearer in the August 9 Osun governorship elections, Senator Iyiola Omisore, has said that no amount of threat from ex-Lagos State governor and a National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, will save the incumbent, Governor Rauf Aregbesola from suffering defeat at the polls.
Tinubu had restated in Lagos on Friday, without remorse, that anybody caught attempting to rig the forthcoming elections in Ekiti and Osun States would be roasted alive.
But Omisore in a statement issued by his Director of Media and Strategy, Mr. Diran Odeyemi, on Monday alleged that Tinubu had made the threat as a precursor to the APC’s planned rigging of the Osun poll.
The statement read, “Ordinarily, we wouldn’t have taken issues with him knowing full well that the August 9 gubernatorial election will vindicate the PDP, but in order to put the issues in proper perspective, we want to let every discerning Nigerians particularly Osun indigenes know that Mr. Tinubu is fixated because of the defeat starring his sidekick, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola in the face.
“The rig and roast campaign that he has embarked on with Ogbeni Aregbesola is to prepare the ground for the mayhem they planned to unleash on the people once they lose, which is imminent.
“We have discovered that by threatening fire and brimstone should the APC lose the election, Tinubu and Aregbesola were merely trying to protect their business empire in Osun.
“The APC inspite of its grandstanding lost woefully in Ondo and Anambra gubernatorial elections because people are now seeing through the deceit and empty promises where they hold sway.
“Let Tinubu and Aregbesola be prepared to commit political harakiri since the people have rejected them and no amount of blood letting campaign will dissuade the people from voting for the PDP on August 9”.
