    Oyo SDP Guber Candidate Pledges Cash, Materials To Fire Victims

    seyi-makinde2Mr Seyi Makinde, the Oyo State Social Democratic Party (SDP) governorship candidate, has pledged to assist victims of the Supply and Transport Army Barracks fire incident at Eleyele, Ibadan.

    The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Makinde made the pledge during his visit to the scene of the incident on Monday.

    He assured the victims of his commitment to providing them cash and materials in the next few days.

    Makinde, who requested for a comprehensive list of the victims, called on them to ensure equitable distribution of the cash and materials when received.

    Commending the gesture, one of the victims, Mr Gabriel Adeyemi, wished Makinde well in his future endeavours.

    “We thank you sir for your philanthropic gesture and wish you good luck in the forthcoming election”, he said.

    NAN reports that the incident occurred on Saturday, destroying property worth millions of naira. (NAN)
