Chairman, Agege Local Government Council, Lagos, Mr. Ganiyu Egunjobi has warned residents against attending parties and other social gatherings because of Coronavirus and LASSA fever.
In a recent interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Ganiyu revealed that the chances of contracting the virus will be very high during such gatherings.
According to him, the citizens must be very careful, especially in Lagos State, since the deadly virus has the ability to take lives.
He added that Nigerians must remain vigilant like the English Football Association and Serie A organizers who are already taking steps to keep their footballers and fans super safe.
His words, “We need to be very careful, especially in Lagos state; we must suspend all unnecessary social gatherings to curb further spread of the virus.
“The English Football Association has stopped the traditional pre-match handshakes during premiership games,while Seria A matches are now being played behind closed doors due to the same virus.”
He added that the communities have to be sensitised to make sure Nigerians are aware of the implications of spreading and contracting the infectious virus.
