Patriotic Rivers Citizens today threw their weight behind Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) Operations in Rivers-State. Citizens of Rivers State turned out in their numbers to show solidarity to “FSARS “.
The event started with a peaceful rally, from the Aba road axis of Port Harcourt where banners and placards where hoisted, with men, and women signing solidarity songs for the Special Anti Robbery squad.
The Rally went as far as the Police Head Quarters in Moscow Road, Rivers State. Hon Asita O. Asita (Former Deputy Governorship Candidate of the APC) who led the delegation to visit the Commissioner of Police Ahmed Zaki, thanked CP Ahmed and for the great work the police , he also on behalf of the delegation passed vote of confidence on Commander of SARS Akin Fakorode and his team, for bringing back sanity and peace to Rivers State. He also accused the Governor of Rivers State of sponsoring and harboring criminals, he further said “it is only in Rivers State that kidnappers and killers will be given traditional stools instead of been apprehend and charged to court for their crimes “.
Other Rivers State Leaders which include : Hon Tonye Princewill (Former Governorship Candidate), Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs, Dr Sokonte Davies ( Executive Director Marine Operation Nigerian Ports Authority), Chief Davies Ikanya ( State Chairman APC), amongst others also specially thanked the Commissioner of Police and his team, they further promised to support the Nigerian Police in anyway necessary.
Addressing the delegation, CP Ahmed Zaki (Commissioner Of Police Rivers State), thanked them for making them to visit , in his words ” I must thank you all for finding time to come and visit us, truly by our assessment, SARS have been doing a great job, the police is always ready to serve you better, we however require your assistance and support. I also assure you that your letter and concern will get to the Inspector General (IG)”. Thank You.
