Former Abia State Governor and current senator representing Abia Central, Chief Theodore Orji, has showed his allegiance to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), saying he is not leaving the party.
Orji made the statement to his supporters and delegates at Urban Primary School venue of Ward 1 Congress for the Ward Congress of the Party, which held across the country last weekend.
While hailing the party members for the manner the Congress was held, he urged them to ignore all the antics of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“When I came into this venue everywhere was peaceful; we are not here to fight or quarrel but to exercise our rights as party members,” he said.
“We have decided to remain in this party, we are not leaving our party that we have built, if you go to another party definitely you become a tenant, but here in PDP, you will remain a Landlord.”
The Senator charged the newly inaugurated Ward1 17 member executive not to betray the trust of fellow party members.
“You are not the best amongst the other party men and women, this is a big trust which you must not betray this trust”, Orji said.
In his acceptance speech after the election which was on a voice vote, the Ward 1 Chairman, Nnaji Otuonye on behalf of other executive members thanked Party supporters and members while pledged to impress its members.
