Timothy Osadolor, a member of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has stated that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, is “technically” no longer a member of the party.
Osadolor cautioned against giving credence to Wike’s statements, alleging that the minister engages in “double-speak” on various issues.
In an interview with Trust TV, he remarked, “The truth is that Wike has technically left the PDP. When last did you see him in any PDP function?”
The PDP Deputy National Youth leader went on to assert that Wike’s actions, including his purported leadership role in the All Progressives Congress (APC) in his state, indicate his departure from the PDP.
He urged Nigerians not to take Wike seriously due to his alleged tendency to speak with conflicting voices.
Osadolor’s remarks come amidst questions about Wike’s allegiance and activities in the lead-up to the 2023 general elections.
Allegations have surfaced that Wike worked against the PDP’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, during the elections, aligning himself with President Bola Tinubu.
This alleged alliance reportedly led to Wike’s appointment as the FCT Minister.
In response to Wike’s actions, the PDP’s acting Chairman, Umar Damagum, has reportedly threatened to sanction him soon.
