The Presidency has announced that President Bola Tinubu will launch the Student Loan Scheme on Thursday, a move aimed at easing financial burdens for Nigerian families and young people.
Ajuri Ngelale, Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, revealed this during an appearance on TVC’s program ‘Counting the Cost of President Tinubu’s Reforms.’
Ngelale highlighted the significance of the National Student Loan Programme, describing it as a major step towards reducing financial obligations, particularly during challenging times.

President Tinubu had previously signed the Access to Higher Education Act, 2023, into law on June 12, 2023.
The act is designed to facilitate interest-free loans for students pursuing higher education.
While the scheme was initially slated to commence between September and October 2023, the Federal Government had experienced delays in its implementation.
However, with the imminent launch, the program is expected to provide substantial relief to students and families across the country.
