Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed readiness for a ceasefire as proposed by the United States but has set conditions for its implementation.
Putin, speaking at a press conference alongside Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko, insisted that Ukraine must halt troop mobilization, suspend military training, and cease receiving foreign military aid during the 30-day truce.
“The end of hostilities should address the original causes of the crisis,” Putin stated, emphasizing that any ceasefire must contribute to lasting peace between Russia and Ukraine.

Ukraine had earlier agreed to the US-brokered 30-day ceasefire during negotiations in Jeddah on March 11, contingent on Russia’s compliance.
The InfoStride News reports that the talks in Saudi Arabia also led to the United States resuming key military and intelligence support for Ukraine after a brief suspension last week.
Putin stressed that any temporary truce must be structured in a way that paves the path for long-term stability between both nations.
