Gov. Rochas Okorocha of Imo on Wednesday expressed sadness over the death of the Channels Television State House Correspondent, Mr Chukwuma Onuekwusi at the age of 55.
Okorocha, in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Sam Onwuemeodo, regretted that Onuekwusi died when his patriotism and services were needed most.
He described Onuekwusi as “a worthy ambassador who acquitted himself well, not only as a Journalist of note but also as an exemplary son of the State.”
According to him, the late Onuekwusi represented an ideal electronic media practitioner and was a blessing
to the Journalism profession in particular and the society at large.
He extended his condolence to the family of the late journalist and the Management and Staff of Channels Television.
The governor pledged the support of the state government in giving him a befitting burial and prayed that God would grant his soul eternal rest.
The late Onuekwusi, who hailed from Akabo in Ikeduru Local Government Area of the state, died in an Abuja hospital on Tuesday.
