US President, Donald Trump has come out to say that talks with Russia and Ukraine on a peace deal are very well-advanced. He recently had his say as he met with British Prime Minister, Keir Starmer at the White House, and Nigerians have been reacting.
According to him, he can only praise Russia for its actions in the ongoing talks, and he believes a peace deal can be reached with Russia to ensure Putin never invades Ukraine again.

Starmer also urged the United States to provide a security backstop for any European forces that take part in a potential peacekeeping role in Ukraine at the conclusion of the peace talks.
Trump said, “I think Russia has been acting very well. … I think we’re very well advanced on the deal, but we have not made a deal yet.”
