Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, has expressed his disappointment with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, stating that it has failed to meet the expectations of Nigerians.
Adegboruwa made these remarks on Wednesday while reacting to the tragic Christmas Eve killings that claimed the lives of over 100 people in Bokkos and Barkin-Ladi local government areas of Plateau State.
He pointed to the revelation by Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State that more than 64 communities in the state have been permanently taken over by terrorists for over two years as evidence of the lack of transparency in governance.

Adegboruwa emphasized that the primary responsibility of the federal government is the security and welfare of the people, a duty which, in his view, the Tinubu administration has not fulfilled adequately.
“The recent gruesome killings in Plateau State prove beyond doubt that governance has failed in Nigeria,” Adegboruwa stated.
He criticized the administration’s economic policies, attributing them to the widespread suffering, hunger, and poverty experienced by Nigerians.
He also highlighted the issue of insecurity, claiming that the government has not implemented effective measures to address it.
Referring to Section 14 (2) (a) of the Nigerian Constitution, Adegboruwa stressed that the government’s primary purpose should be the security and welfare of the people.
He accused the administration of focusing more on propaganda than on implementing tangible changes to improve the lives of Nigerians.
In conclusion, Adegboruwa called on President Tinubu to either demonstrate a genuine commitment to addressing the country’s challenges or resign from office.
He urged the president to take decisive action to lift Nigerians out of their present economic hardships.
It is worth noting that Governor Mutfwang had earlier disclosed that the death toll from the Christmas Eve attacks had risen to 115.
President Tinubu, in response to the incident, directed security agencies to intensify efforts to apprehend the perpetrators.
