Sanwo-Olu inspects vandalised Lagos-Badagry bridge, threatens action

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has inspected sections of the Lagos-Badagry Expressway affected by vandalism and warned that the government will take action against those responsible for damaging public infrastructure.

The governor conducted the inspection as part of efforts to assess the extent of damage and determine measures needed to restore the affected facilities.

Sanwo-Olu expressed concern over the continued vandalism of government infrastructure, stressing that such acts undermine development efforts and impose additional costs on taxpayers.

He warned individuals involved in the destruction or theft of public assets to desist from the practice, noting that the government would work with security agencies to identify and prosecute offenders.

The governor also directed relevant authorities to strengthen surveillance around vulnerable sections of the road and other critical infrastructure to prevent further vandalism.

He said protecting public assets was a collective responsibility and urged residents to report suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities.

Sanwo-Olu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving infrastructure across Lagos, stressing that government resources should be channelled towards development rather than repairing facilities repeatedly damaged by vandals.

He assured residents that the affected areas would receive the necessary attention as part of broader efforts to improve transportation infrastructure and ease movement along the Lagos-Badagry corridor.
