Alhaji Muritala Yakubu Ajaka, the SDP governorship candidate in the November 11 Kogi State election, distances himself from purported protests, citing APC involvement.
In a 41-second video released on Friday night, Ajaka, currently challenging the Kogi State Governorship election outcome in court, disavowed any connection to planned protests in Lokoja and Abuja on Saturday.
He alleges that those orchestrating the protests are agents of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Ajaka, expressing his concerns, appealed to security agencies to apprehend anyone demonstrating in his name or on behalf of the SDP. He emphasized, “I did not authorize any protest in Lokoja or Abuja tomorrow.
Anybody protesting in my name should be arrested.
They are all agents of Governor Yahaya Bello trying to cause confusion in the State and possibly in Abuja.”
The SDP candidate urges vigilance, requesting the security agencies to act swiftly and detain individuals wearing SDP vests during the alleged protests, labeling them as agents of Yahaya Bello, the Governor of Kogi State.
