Sharks FC of Port Harcourt over the weekend succeeded to pick its first three points in the Nigeria Professional Premier League (NPPL) which started three weeks ago (March 7th 2015).
The Sunday match between Sharks and Akwa United saw Sharks tying its knot only two minutes into the game by Jaiyeola Yusuf, giving Sharks the lead 1-0 at the Liberation Stadium.
Sharks attempt to solidify the games with more goals proved abortive as the tense defense of Akwa ensured, the several attempts of Sharks did not see the goal post.
The match ended 1-0, giving Sharks a total of four points from three matches.
Sharks Assistant Technical Adviser, Coach Ere Dokubo, said it was a good game but his boys did not take advantage of all opportunities.
“We had a lot of chances that would have been sealed properly but they did not. We still need to do more work and win to ensure we come up the league table. Our opponents were good too”, Coach Ere said.
Sharks which has four points is on 8th position on the league table.
