Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, has expressed optimism that the Nigerian Armed Forces will overcome security threats posed by bandits, ISWAP, Boko Haram, and the Lakurawa terrorist group.
Sani, in a post on X on Saturday, highlighted the scale of military operations across the country, stating that no army in Africa is as engaged and stretched as Nigeria’s.
“The Nigerian Armed Forces are fighting ISWAP and Boko Haram in the North East and battling bandits and the Lakurawa terrorist group in the North West.

No army in Africa is engaged at this level. We appreciate their patriotism and sacrifices to secure our country. We shall overcome,” he wrote.
His comments follow a strong warning from the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, who declared that any Lakurawa terrorist encountered by Nigerian troops “is as good as dead.”
Musa’s statement came after the Federal High Court in Abuja officially proscribed the Lakurawa sect as a terrorist organization.
Justice James Omotosho, in a ruling on an ex-parte originating summons filed by the Attorney-General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), designated the group as a terrorist organization, granting the military legal backing to eliminate its members.
