Shehu Sani, a former senator representing Kaduna Central, has asked President Bola Tinubu to investigate alleged cabals within the administration of Muhammadu Buhari.
Instead of rewarding them with posts in Tinubu’s government, Sani said the former political officeholders should be held accountable.
To honor or appoint into office former governors whom Sani accused of robbing their states and left people in poverty and debt would be “most unconscionable,” he tweeted on Tuesday.

Sani argued that past political officials have not been held accountable for their actions, despite the fact that former Central Bank Governor Godwin Emefiele and former EFCC Chairman Abdulrasheed Bawa are currently in custody.
He said it sends the wrong message that things are looking up because Tinubu hasn’t held them accountable.
When asked about awarding or appointing former governors who robbed their states and left their people in poverty and debt, he said, “It will be most unconscionable to think of rewarding or appointing them into office.”
“Two people in detention does not send a good signal about a new dawn while the members of the defunct cabal, ex ministers, and ex Governors are not called to account,” said one critic.
There have been rumors that Tinubu will shortly offer his nominees for ministerial positions to the National Assembly.
It has been whispered that previous governors and other public officials are included on the list.
