The Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has called on the international community to intervene and end attacks by the rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia, which have intensified instability in the country.
In a statement issued on Saturday by the Office of the Media Directorate, Sudanese Embassy, the ministry urged for collective global action to restore stability in Sudan and the Sahel region.
The statement condemned recent drone attacks by the RSF militia on critical infrastructure, including the Al-Shawak power station and Gedaref water station in Gedaref State, Eastern Sudan.

The attacks have caused widespread power outages in Kassala and Gedaref, two of Sudan’s largest food-producing states, which also host large populations of internally displaced persons (IDPs) and refugees from neighboring countries.
“These terrorist attacks reflect the desperation and frustration of the rebel RSF militia following a series of military defeats by the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and supporting forces,” the ministry said.
The statement also highlighted the militia’s alleged targeting of civilians in Al-Gezira State and the bombing of the Sultan Ali Dina Museum in El Fasher, resulting in extensive destruction of cultural landmarks and infrastructure.
The ministry accused the RSF of deliberately seeking to destabilize Sudan by attacking national institutions, vital infrastructure, and cultural heritage sites.
It reiterated the urgent need for international collaboration to end what it described as acts of terrorism and to ensure stability in the region.
The Sudanese government reaffirmed its commitment to combating the RSF militia and called on the global community to support efforts to restore peace and stability in the war-torn nation.
