In the wake of Alhaji Bamanga Tukur’s suspension from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, the secretary of the party’s Board of Trustees, Senator Walid Jubrin, has advised the immediate past national chairman of the party to swallow his pride and apologise for wrongdoings.
Tukur is believed to behind the case instituted against the current acting chairman of the party, Adamu Mu’azu. Athough a federal high court sitting in Abuja dismissed his prayers for his reinstatement last Tuesday, he has appealed the decision.
Justifying Tukur’s suspension from the party, Senator Jubrin said it was unfortunate that the ex-national chairman was playing hide and seek with the party knowing that his action violated the party’s constitution.
“It is time Tukur swallowed his pride and apologise to the party and, indeed, Mr President. At a time when the party was gearing for elections, it is absurd that its past chairman should be seen to be dragging the party into disrepute.
“We should not be changing party chairmen like clothes everytime. I expected that Tukur would for the sake of our party, join hands and ensure that our party was successful at next year’s election than this unnecessary distraction the suit is causing”, the PDP BoT scribe stated.
