Teachers in Gokana Local Government Area of the State have been warned against collection of illegal levies from school pupils. The Education Secretary in-charge of the Local Government, Sir S.B. Nuate handed down the warning while commissioning a Model Primary School built by the State Government in Deeyor Community. He noted that Government will not hesitate to deal with any teacher who indulged in illegal levy collection.

Sir Nuate re-iterated the priority, the present administration places on education, stating that the free tuition fee for pupils and students in secondary schools, free books, bags and uniforms are eloquent testimonies of the actualization of the free education policy. He also charged Communities where the schools are sited to always see themselves as partners calling on them to guard against vandalisation of facilities in the schools. Speaking on behalf of the Deeyor Community, the Chairman of the Community Council of Chiefs, Chief Ezekiel Ngbei thanked the State Government for siting the school in the Community and pledged the support of his people to the Amaechi led administration in the State.
