The South West chapter of the People’s Democratic Party, (PDP) wants the instant review of the Electoral Act to aid electronic transmission of election results to collation centers in future elections.
PDP revealed wants the 8th National Assembly to look into the amendment of the electoral act passed by them and vetoed by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The party revealed this in a communique issued after a stakeholders meeting of the South West held in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
According to them, the amendment stands for an immediate solution to the election challenges experienced in the country.
PDP added that our elections are now being compromised by security operatives that seem to always favor APC.
They believe the recent elections in Kogi and Bayelsa were seriously rigged by APC and the police even had a helicopter to aerially bombard voters on the day of voting.
PDP then blasted the terrible murder of the women leader of the Party in Kogi State, Salome Acheju Abu, calling it unnecessary post-election violence.
