Recent research complied by the University of Arizona and the MSN online department showed that the number of people with diabetes is continuing to increase. In fact, the growth is much faster than was anticipated just a few years ago. From 2010 to 2012, we saw a staggering increase of 1%; that’s over 1.7 million new cases of people with diabetes in just two years. If the trend continues, experts predict that 1 in 3 people in the United States will have diabetes by 2050.
These stats are not only surprising, but also alarming. As the number of people with diabetes increases, healthcare providers are trying hard to meet the demand for better treatment, more professional nurses and a more permanent solution to diabetes itself.
