President Bola Tinubu has assured Nigerians that his administration will not relent in its efforts to develop the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, and other parts of the country.
Tinubu gave the assurance on Thursday while commissioning the rehabilitated Old Keffi Road from Kado Fish Market to Deidei as part of activities marking the third anniversary of his administration.

The President, who was represented by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, said the newly rehabilitated road would boost commercial activities and improve connectivity in the affected communities.
According to him, the road serves as an important economic corridor linking Kado, Saburi, Gwagwa, Idu, Karmo and Deidei directly to the Outer Northern Expressway.
“This road is more than a carriageway; it is an economic artery. By linking Kado, Saburi, Gwagwa, Idu, Karmo and Deidei directly to the Outer Northern Expressway, we have cut travel time and reduced costs for residents.
“Goods will now move faster, markets will breathe, workers will get to their destinations with less stress, and prosperity will increase for the people of this environment,” he said.
Tinubu also commended the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, for the “Light Up Abuja” initiative, describing it as a demonstration of the dividends of democracy.
He noted that the installation of street lights along the corridor would improve security and encourage commercial activities beyond daylight hours.
“Through your Light Up Abuja initiative, we have integrated street lights here so movement at night is safer and commerce can continue beyond sunset. That is what the dividends of democracy look like,” he said.
The President urged residents and traditional rulers in the affected communities to protect the infrastructure by preventing vandalism and ensuring proper maintenance.
“Do not vandalise the street lights. Do not block the drainage with refuse. Report any damage early for easier rehabilitation. A road maintained by its community lasts for a generation, while a road abused by its community deteriorates quickly,” he said.
Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to expanding infrastructure across the FCT, including the area councils, to promote inclusion, security and economic growth.
“We are not slowing down. Across the FCT, from the city centre to the area councils, we are building for inclusion, safety and growth. Every district deserves access, and every citizen deserves to feel the impact of this administration wherever they live.
“Let us join hands for development so that together we can build the Nigeria of our dreams,” he added before officially commissioning the rehabilitated Old Keffi Road from Kado Village to Deidei Junction on the Outer Northern Expressway.
