Following her explosive interview earlier in the week about her troubled marriage to Oladunni Churchill, Tonto Dikeh has been said to have lied especially about the Ghana incident where she claimed to have been beaten and stripped naked by her husband while they lived in that country.
A Ghana-based radio station, Joy News however is suggesting that may have been false.
A video interview of their correspondent with the police officer in charge of the case has been made public and his account differs from hers.
Reading from the case file, the policeman said, ‘On the 9th of June 2015, a Nigerian called Churchill Dunni…reported to this divisional headquarters that his fiancee then, called Tonto Charity Dikeh has called damage to his property in his house… We proceeded to the place and we found out that some many things in the house had been damaged by the lady. We inspected it as our procedure demands. We took her to the station, she admitted the offence.’
He went on to disclose that Tonto was aggressive with the police and the case was withdrawn by Churchill who insisted that he loved her despite their issues.
This puts another another angle to the much discussed case of the celebrity marriage breaking down.
Since Tonto Dikeh’s interview with Media Room Hub circulated, many Nigerians have taken sides, with majority supporting the actress and applauding her for speaking out.
