Two Nigerian businessmen have been kidnapped by the outlawed Boko Haram sect in Gamboru, a border town with Cameroon in Borno State, Nigeria’s northeast.
The two businessmen were taken away in two unmarked Toyota Hilux pick-ups to an unknown destination along the Nigerian border with Cameroon at 7.34pm, reports have said.
Gamboru is a border town with Cameroon and 138 kilometres northeast of Maiduguri, the Borno state capital.
An eyewitness who spoke on phone with journalists from Gamboru on Thursday, said “some hoodlums burst into the market square in Hilux vehicles, and told the people not to panic.
“They subsequently went for the two businessmen who they bundled into their vehicle and sped off without killing any person at the market square and mosque,” the eyewitness said.
