VICTORIA, BRITISH COLUMBIA–(Marketwired – April 23, 2014) – Victoria Highlanders FC is pleased to announce a new partnership with Shaw Communications Inc. (TSX:SJR.B) (NYSE:SJR) for the upcoming 2014 Premier Development League season. The agreement will see its home stadium, Royal Athletic Park, given a technological upgrade as Shaw Communications will provide Internet services to the press box and ticket box offices, as well as providing in-stadium WiFi services to Highlanders fans through access to the Shaw Go WiFi network. As per club policy, no financial terms will be disclosed.
“I am delighted to welcome Shaw Communications to the Highlanders family. This partnership continues to build the framework of business partners that will help take the Highlanders to the next level of operations,” stated Highlanders General Manager Mark deFrias. “It will be important for the Highlanders to be as competitive on the field as we are off the field. At the highest level of our program, we provide an entertainment avenue for the community, and this relationship will allow us to make a marked improvement on the game day experience at Royal Athletic Park.”
A complementary service available to all Shaw Internet customers, Shaw Go WiFi will provide visitors to Royal Athletic Part with instant Internet access by entering their credentials. Once logged in, Shaw customers will remain continuously connected to Shaw Go WiFi while within range of the network.
