Vinicius Junior joining Chelsea is a fairytale shout, former Blues midfielder Jody Morris has said. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, the Real Madrid superstar would be considered too old for the owners at Stamford Bridge, who prefer to focus on youth and potential.

Jody added that he would sign him if he had a say, but he doubts the current hierarchy will look in that direction.
His words, “Personally, I love Vini Jr. I thought he was outstanding in the Supercopa de Espana. What a goal, the one he scored. He had [Jules] Kounde on toast, didn’t he?
Personally, would I want to sign him? Yeah. But I think he’s too old for this ownership. I know he’s 25 but he’s 25 going on 26. Whatever we’re going to have to shell out for him, I’m not sure. I know we’ve sold a hotel, a women’s team and a car park or something but I’m not sure them accountants have any more moves in their locker to go and unlock a Vini Jr. move.
Would I want him at Chelsea? Absolutely. But I’m not sure he’s possible to go and buy and if you’re Vini Jr., are you really looking to come to Chelsea? At the moment, where we are, you’re not coming to Chelsea are you? It’s a good shout but it’s a fairytale shout. I don’t see it.”
WOW.
Chelsea Football Club is an English professional football club based in Fulham, West London. Founded in 1905, they play their home games at Stamford Bridge.
The club competes in the Premier League, the top division of English football. They won their first major honour, the League championship, in 1955. The club won the FA Cup for the first time in 1970, their first European honour, the Cup Winners’ Cup, in 1971, and became the third English club to win the Club World Cup in 2022.
On 7 May 2022, Chelsea confirmed that terms have been agreed for a new ownership group, led by Todd Boehly, Clearlake Capital, Mark Walter and Hansjörg Wyss, to acquire the club. The group was later known as BlueCo.
The UK government approved the £4.25bn takeover, ending Abramovich’s 19-year ownership of the club. Bruce Buck, who served as chairman since 2003, was replaced by Boehly, while long-serving club director and de facto sporting director Marina Granovskaia left, as did Petr Čech from the role of technical and performance advisor.
