DELTA State Commissioner for Finance and Economic Planning, Chief Kenneth Okpara has justified the development of Economic Dashboard for the State by the Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan’s administration, saying it was employed as a performance monitoring tool for Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).
The Commissioner, who disclosed this during a press briefing to give account of the performance of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning in 2013, said, the Economic Dashboard provides reports on economic performance aggregate, as well as segment and sector specific level.
While saying that the performance of the MDAs is based on the key performance indicators derived from the State’s vision 2020, Millennium Development Goals 2015 and International benchmark, he said, a forum was held in December 2012 and in January 2013, headed by the State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan to review the performance of 26 MDGs for the year 2011.
The Commissioner said the next Economic Dashboard exercise will review the performance of all MDAs for the year 2012 and 2013, adding that an Economic Dashboard mock exercise has been concluded for the year 2012 and mid-year 2013, indicating a general improvement in the performance of MDAs from the year 2011.
