Your federal might failed in Osun Election, Rufai mocks Wike, APC

Arise TV presenter Rufai Oseni has criticised the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and the All Progressives Congress (APC) following the outcome of the Osun State governorship election.

Rufai argued that the election demonstrated the limitations of federal influence in determining electoral outcomes.

He said the result showed that political power and access to federal resources could not automatically guarantee victory at the state level.

The broadcaster particularly criticised the role of Wike and other influential APC figures in the election, suggesting that their political influence failed to deliver the expected result.

Rufai said the outcome should serve as a lesson to political leaders who believe that federal connections alone can secure electoral victory.

He maintained that voters ultimately retain the power to determine the outcome of elections when they participate actively and resist political pressure.

The broadcaster urged political parties to focus on grassroots mobilisation, credible candidates and issues that directly affect voters rather than relying on political influence.

He also called on Nigerians to remain vigilant and protect their votes during elections.

Rufai said the Osun election could provide important lessons ahead of the 2027 general elections, particularly for opposition parties seeking to challenge the ruling APC.
