Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha has come out to say he still reserves the constitutional power to make appointments till he exits office on May 29, 2019.
He revealed this at the state capital after inaugurating the chairman and members of some government boards two month before his government expires.
He urged the inaugurated members to serve the country well and to perform their role to the best of their abilities for the good of Imo State, assuring them that the law backed their appointment.
His words, “My government is alive till May 29. So, I still have the rights as empowered by the constitution to make appointments till then. I want to assure you that this (the appointment) is backed by law. You will stay in office even after my stay till the end of your tenure and you are entitled to all benefits of your respective positions.”
