The Headquarters of the Joint Task Force, North East, Operation HADIN KAI, OPHK, has announced another breakthrough in the ongoing search and rescue operation to recover students abducted from Government Day Secondary School, Lassa.
In a statement issued by the Acting Military Information Officer, Captain Mohammed Goni, the task force said troops rescued six additional abductees through sustained air and ground operations backed by credible intelligence.
According to the statement, the rescued victims, comprising four adults and two infants, were found in Talakawa, Chibok Local Government Area of Borno State.

The military said the victims were among those abducted in Mussa, Askira/Uba Local Government Area, in May and have since been moved to a secure location, where they are receiving medical attention and other necessary care.
Operation HADIN KAI added that immediate relief materials and essential supplies had been provided to the rescued victims to ease the impact of their ordeal, while efforts were underway to reunite them with their families.
“This recent achievement underscores the effectiveness of the coordinated search and rescue operations conducted by Operation HADIN KAI and reaffirms the steadfast commitment of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, the Borno State Government, security agencies and auxiliary forces to the safe recovery of all abducted individuals,” the statement said.
The task force further disclosed that troops are continuing to pursue the fleeing terrorists, maintaining sustained pressure along their escape routes to limit their operational activities.
It added that troops recovered 50 rounds of PKT ammunition abandoned by the insurgents during the pursuit.
According to the military, the recovery highlights the success of the ongoing offensive operations and the disorderly retreat of the terrorists under intense military pressure.
