The race to beat the October 31st deadline for the purchase of nomination and expression of interest forms in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has started.
Former governor of Oyo State, Chief Adebayo Alao-Akala was at the National Secretariat of the party yesterday to purchase his expression of interest and nomination forms ahead of the November 29 Governorship Primary election of the PDP, as he seeks a return to the Oyo State government House in the 2015 election.
Akala, who spoke with journalists after picking his forms, said the PDP had learnt from its loss in the last election in the state and was now prepared to take Oyo back.
Other members of the PDP who also showed up at the party’s secretariat to pick up forms include the immediate past Nigeria Ambassador to the Kingdom of Morocco and former Minister of National Planning Commission, Senator Abdallah Muhammed Wali and a female Delta State governorship aspirant, Mrs Ndidi Abanum. Wali wishes to contest the 2015 Sokoto State governorship election.
Wali, who was in the company of his supporters told journalists after picking up the forms that the government of Governor Aliyu Wamako Magatakarda was a failure.
According to him, Sokoto has remained backward in all sectors of the society.
