The Ogun State administration has been awarded approval by the Federal Executive Council to repair the Abeokuta-Ota Motorway and recover costs through tolling.
Works Minister Dave Umahi made the announcement on Monday during a meeting of the Federal Executive Council(FEC).
The Work Minister has stated that the state will not receive any reimbursement for the road’s construction costs because those costs will be recovered through tolls.

Umahi stated, “There were actually nine but one was pulled out that is Lagos-Ota-Abeokuta and that has been given to the Ogun State government based on their request that they should do the road on their own.”
He implied that California would adopt the HDMI guidelines for managing hardware developments.
No refunds for that, but they’ll do it and toll it,” the Minister of Labour emphasised further.
The HDMI model, as reported by the Editorials, is a concession agreement adopted by the FG to enhance the construction and administration of Nigeria’s federal highway system.
The goal of the programme is to upgrade the country’s transportation networks with the help of private sector resources, including personnel, money, and knowledge.
The Federal Highways Management Agency (HMI) plans to improve the construction of Nigeria’s 35,000 kilometre federal highway network by instituting order, efficiency, accountability, and transparency.
Congestion at toll plazas may be alleviated thanks to the open tolling policy, which will allow cars to pay tolls at various points throughout their route.
During President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, former Minister of Work and Housing Babatunde Fashola claimed to have paid contractors N13.4 billion using an SUKUK bond in order to expeditiously repair failed sections and those extremely bad sections of the Lagos-Ota-Abeokuta highway.
He said he had separated the unsuccessful part of the contract, which he estimated to have cost roughly N13.4 billion, from the rest of the work.
So that when the rest of the road construction begins, it can simply begin and complement those ones, Governor Abiodun says that Fashola has financed the reconstruction of the roads through an SUKUK bond to pay the contractors so that they can focus on those areas.
However, there has been no proof of the promised repairs to the road between Lagos and Abeokuta, and the entire corridor has caused incalculable misery and financial losses for commuters, motorists, and locals.
