The Pan-African Cooperate Service Delivery Excellent Award has been conferred on the Management and Staff of Ministry Agriculture, Abia State. In the same stance, Rt. Hon Uzo Azubuike has been conferred with The Pan-African Prize for Excellence in leadership award by the initiative for positive influence on African Youth.
The award is a culmination of the giant strides and commendable track records of achievements of the ministry under the watch of Rt. Hon Uzo Azubuike in the Agricultural sector which has greatly impacted the youths. Speaking after receiving the award on behalf of management of the Ministry, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry Barr (Mrs) Uzoamaka Uche-Ikonne said that the award is dedicated to our Agriculture friendly Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu,for his revolutionary agricultural program and policies. Pointing that the award is an indication that the present administration has performed excellently well in all the sectors of the state economy, especially in the Agricultural sector.
She said that Abia State is ranked as one of the States with the greatest Agricultural potentials that can survive on Agro-based internally generated revenue, achieve food security and generate employment for her teaming youth and economic empowerment for the Citizenry.
Mrs Uche-Ikonne noted with delight that the PAN-African Youth group carried out their accessment and survey before confering the award on the Ministry and Rt. Hon Uzo Azubuike whom she described as a great achiever, trial blazer a focused, dogged captain of the Abia State agricultural revolutions and an Agro-Lawyer on a mission of taking agriculture in the state to the vintage height.
She thanked them for the award which according to get will challenge the Ministry to do more for the State, Nation and Africa and expressed gratitude to the State Governor for his support for all the numerous agricultural initiatives and projects going on in the State.
Earlier in his goodwill message Hon David Christopher, the Head of Mission Youth Africa commended the State Ministry of Agriculture for various Agricultural innovations geared towards Youth empowerment, Nation building, Community development, effective and efficient Service delivery.
