The Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC) has announced the results of the outstanding Numan Local Government Area election, declaring the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Zidon Nzanyopwa, as the winner.
The electoral officer who supervised the Numan election, Sani Ahmed, announced on Monday that Nzanyopwa polled 19,174 votes to defeat his closest rivals.
According to Ahmed, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bio Alexander, scored 5,676 votes, while the candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Nancy Nelson, polled 4,178 votes.

The Numan election was conducted on Monday after it was postponed from Saturday, June 13, when elections were held in the remaining 20 local government areas of the state.
By Monday afternoon, results from the other local government areas had indicated that the PDP had won across the state.
Announcing the overall results late Monday evening in Yola, the Chairman of ADSIEC, Mohammed Umar, confirmed that the PDP won all 21 local government areas and all 226 wards in the state.
The outcome means that all chairmen and vice chairmen of the 21 local government councils, as well as all councillors across the 226 wards, are members of the PDP.
Umar thanked the people of Adamawa State for participating peacefully in the election and exercising their democratic rights.
He commended voters, electoral officials and security agencies for their roles in ensuring a smooth electoral process.
The results come amid changing political dynamics in the state.
InfoStride News reports that the newly elected local government officials had earlier emerged as PDP candidates before Governor Ahmadu Fintiri defected from the PDP to the APC.
