The Adamawa State Government has announced a revision to the operational restrictions for tricycles, commonly known as Keke NAPEP, in Yola North, Yola South, and Girei local government areas (LGAs).
According to the revised directive, Keke NAPEP operators in these LGAs will now be allowed to operate until 11pm, instead of the previous 10pm limit, during the Ramadan fasting period.
Governor Ahmadu Fintiri’s Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, conveyed this adjustment in a statement released on Sunday.

The extension of operational hours aims to accommodate Muslim faithful attending tafsir sessions, which typically run late into the night during Ramadan.
The initial restriction, implemented in February 2021 for security reasons, mandated Keke NAPEP operators to cease operations at 10pm in the three municipal local council areas.
However, the current adjustment allows them to operate until 11pm during the Ramadan period, from 11pm to 5am daily, to facilitate the movement of people attending tafsir sessions.
The state government has also instructed security agencies to enhance security measures, particularly in the affected LGAs, to ensure the safety of residents and commuters during the extended operational hours.
