Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has lifted the ban on religious gatherings in the state, starting from June 19, 2020.
Speaking during a media briefing today, he revealed that his administration will allow a limited opening of religious houses based on compliance reviewed by the state’s safety commission.
According to him, worship centres will still not be allowed to have more than 500 worshippers at a time, even if it falls below the 40% threshold.
He added that all churches must be clean and disinfected after every round of worship.
His words, “We’ll be encouraging people to have more than one services and to ensure that they keep their premises clean, and disinfect before another round of worship can take place.”
