After former Vice President and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Alhaji Atiku Abubakar levelled claims against All Progressives Congress (APC) President Bola Tinubu earlier on Thursday, the APC responded by saying it is unaffected by the allegations.
According to the APC, Atiku holds Tinubu accountable for his electoral failures in 2007, 2015, 2019, and this year, and thus harbours strong enmity towards him.
According to InfoStride News, Atiku used documents he got from Chicago State University to make many claims against Tinubu during a news conference in Abuja.

In a statement released by the APC’s National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka, the party claimed that Atiku had offered nothing but “pitiful regurgitation of lies, mindless distortions, and deliberate falsehood” over his “infantile obsession” with Tinubu’s academic background.
According to the party, Atiku has been campaigning for weeks, showing “utter desperation” in his pursuit of the presidency of Nigeria.
The APC has claimed that Atiku’s news conference was an attempt to unduly push the Supreme Court by inciting public opinion.
We think Alhaji Atiku Abubakar ought to have known better than to show egregious contempt of the highest court by speaking publicly about a case he has asked the court to decide.
Atiku blames Tinubu for all of his election failures in 2007, 2015, 2019, and this year, according to the questions asked by the audience during his Yar’Adua Centre show.
Additionally, he claimed that President Bola Tinubu’s ‘F’ on his certificate from Southwest College, a feeder institution to CSU, was merely a clerical error.
He reemphasized that Southwest College served as an important pipeline to Colorado State University. A man named Bola Ahmed Tinubu was admitted, he said, because of his South West College transcript. Westberg also noted that President Bola Tinubu’s coursework at Southwest College mirrored that of his time at CSU.
Westberg also testified that Accounting is a difficult major. Those who did not prepare adequately for CSU by taking the necessary prerequisites at the earlier levels were certain to fail.
Paraphrasing “In a word, excellent. In a phrase, excellent. He graduated with High Honours. That to him speak to the fact that the individual who attended and graduated from CSU was the same person who went to Southwest College
Before his deposition, he filed an affidavit in an Illinois court stating, “Chicago State University provided a diploma to Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and subsequently provided a certified (or official) copy of that diploma.” He noted that CSU has had at least six Registrars since 1979. Both are legitimate and authentic degrees of Chicago State University’
He added that the discrepancy between the diploma and the official copy of the transcript was probably due to human error. It is possible that the certified copy’s graduation date is off because it was typed by hand.
It is typical practise amongst US universities, as observed by Westberg, for third-party providers to offer credentials to students, and CSU follows suit. Transcripts are still the standard for proving enrollment and completion.
Nowhere in Mr. Westberg’s deposition does he claim that President Bola Tinubu’s certificate of election, which he submitted to INEC, is a forgery.
Any hints or suggestions made in this direction are completely fictitious. There is no benefit to be gained and no reason to do so, hence President Tinubu could not have fabricated a University degree he honourably received.
“In desperation, unbecoming of a statesman who once occupied the second highest office in the land, the PDP candidate in the last election has thrown out the window every decency, decorum, dignity, and national respectability on his aimless judicial voyage of discovery to the United States in search of a magic wand for taking power against the will of the Nigerian electorate loudly expressed in last February’s presidential election.”
We consider his recent US fishing expedition as the final kick of a roundly rejected presidential wannabe.
“While we sympathise with Alhaji Atiku Abubakar for spending a lifetime chasing an unrealized ideal, we strongly condemn the perfidious course he has followed and the needless unfavourable exposure of Nigeria and the institution of the Presidency in foreign countries.
For the record, we’d like to set the record straight about Mr. Caleb Westberg’s deposition as Registrar of Chicago State University last Tuesday under oath at the Chicago office of Atiku’s lawyer, Angela Liu, in an effort to protect naive Nigerians from the onslaught of lies, distortions, and misinformation being spread by Atiku and his PDP party. President Bola Tinubu received an honorary degree from Chicago State University, according to Mr. Westberg’s deposition. And he answered every other question with same clarity, which we might summarise as follows: Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the current president of Nigeria, is the same individual who studied at Chicago State University.
“He said he was a student, and he said he was a gentleman, and they both said they were a gentleman, and they both said they were a gentleman.
Mr. Westberg stated that the diploma certificate, which the PDP and Atiku use to try to fool Nigerians and the rest of the world, is merely a ceremonial document and that the transcript, not the certificate, is the true proof of enrollment at Chicago State University or any other American university.
All Nigerians should now realise that despite Atiku’s false statements to the
Illinois Court that he intended to utilise the revelations in support of his appeal to the Supreme Court, he has instead used them as a tool for mischief and extortion, demonstrating a flagrant disregard for the authority of the nation’s top court.
