Some supporters of the All Progressive Congress in Okworike Amagu in Ikwo LGA Ebonyi State were chased out of their homes by hoodlums suspected to be loyalists of the Peoples Democratic Party in the state.
Also valuables, worth millions of naira belonging to the APC supporters, were allegedly destroyed by the attackers.
One APC supporter, whose name was given simply as Mr. William, was also said to be missing as of the time of publishing this report.
Some of the supporters, including their wives and children, who have fled to Abakaliki, the state capital, where they were forced to take refuge in the homes of relatives, pleaded with President Muhammadu Buhari to come to their rescue.
One of the refugees, Moses Nwambeke, claimed that his farmland was taken away from him.
He said, “They chased me out of my village because I am not in their party.
“They also destroyed my brother’s house and carted away his properties especially goats, chickens, foodstuffs etc.
“They have taken over my farmlands where I planted rice and also looted by cassava farm. I learnt they are planning to sell off the lands.
“I am appealing to President Buhari to come to our aide because we are suffering for supporting him.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Chris Anyanwu, could not be reached for his comments at press time.
