The Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has concluded plans to host Vice President Kashim Shettima, who is expected to officially receive Governor Dauda Lawal into the party next Tuesday.
The development was disclosed by the state APC Chairman, Tukur Danfulani Maikatako, during a stakeholders’ meeting held in Gusau on Saturday.
Maikatako expressed satisfaction over Governor Lawal’s return to the ruling party, noting that the Vice President, alongside members of the party’s national leadership, would be present for the formal reception.

He described Zamfara as a traditional stronghold of the APC, adding that the governor’s decision to rejoin the party reflects renewed confidence in its platform.
“As chairman of the party in the state, I call on all members across the 147 wards in the 14 local government areas to turn out in large numbers to welcome the Vice President. This visit is significant as it will further strengthen the party ahead of the 2027 general elections,” he said.
Maikatako also urged party members to set aside internal differences and work collectively toward unity and progress.
“We must put factional interests behind us. The APC is one family, united by a shared vision of advancing the development of Zamfara State and Nigeria,” he added.
In his remarks, a former state chairman of the party, Lawal M Liman, called on members to intensify grassroots mobilisation by spreading the party’s message across wards and local government areas.
He emphasised the need for cohesion within the party, describing the APC as a collective platform committed to achieving shared political goals.
