The Cuban government will officially recognize cryptocurrencies for payments on the island; according to a resolution published in the Official Gazette. The resolution states that the Central Bank of Cuba can now authorize the use of cryptocurrencies “for reasons of socioeconomic interest.” However, the central bank will introduce a set of rules for the use of the currencies within the country, as well as controlling the licensing of providers of crypto-related services. Armed bandits have again invaded Adabka community under Bukkuyum Local government area of Zamfara State. A source from the community told newsmen that the bandits attacked the community on Saturday about 12pm and operated till around 4pm before whisking away the district head of the community, Alhaji Nafiu Shehu. A 96-year-old retired soldier, Joseph Owherhi has been arrested in Suleja by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for dealing in illicit drugs. NDLEA spokesman, Femi Babafemi confirmed the arrest in a statement on Tuesday. He said the nonagenarian was arrested with three kilograms of skunk in his house at Rafin Sanyi area of the Niger State capital on Sunday. Several persons were feared killed with many others injured after suspected herdsmen attacked Yelwa Zangam village, Zangam District in Jos North Local Government Area, Plateau State.
