Some armed robbery and kidnap suspects have escaped from police custody in Calabar, the Cross River State capital. The Police Public Relations Officer in Cross River, Irene Ugbo, confirmed the incident on Monday. The suspects escaped from the Headquarters of the Police Command along the Diamond Hill Road in Calabar. While reports say about 19 suspects fled the police facility, Ugbo, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, disagreed with the figure.
