Suspected Fulani herdsmen on Friday attacked a Benue community in Shengev district of Gwer West Local Government Area (LGA) killing eight persons and displacing hundred others. Tse-Agbulu, Tse-Atakpa and Tse-Abichi, among others were besieged by the marauders with sporadic gunshots while many were wounded and dispossessed of their belongings. Maiduguri residents on Saturday appealed to the management of banks operating in the city to restock their Automated Teller Machines to allow more residents to access their money when in need. The Borno State border town of Marte, has again being seized by Boko Haram gunmen, security sources and government officials have confirmed. Security sources said the terrorists, most of whom had fled Sambisa forests and their other strongholds across Borno State, have now regrouped in Marte, which is 112km north of Maiduguri, the state capital. A Magistrate’s Court, siting at Yan-Azara, Tudun-Wada, Zaria, Kaduna State, has convicted Lukman Ibrahim, 27, of Turunku Road, Tudun-Wada, Zaria, to two years and six months for trespass and theft. The Magistrate, Mohammed Abdurrahman, who handed out the sentence when the accused pleaded guilty to the charge, also orders that he be given 12 lashes. A bomb blast has ripped through a crowded commercial area in Damaturu, the capital of Yobe State, leaving dozens feared dead, according to PREMIUM TIMES. The federal, states and local governments shared N388 billion as statutory allocation for the month of April, 2015, the Minister of State for Finance, Bashir Yuguda said on Friday. He made the announcement in Abuja during a press briefing on the outcome of the end of this month’s Federation Accounts Allocation Committee (FAAC) meeting.
