The Federal Government has set aside, the sum of N445 million for provision of security at the Federal Secretariat, Abuja as terror attacks continue in the country. This was contained in the 2015 budget which has now been presented before the National Assembly. According to reports, the money will be used to provide security equipment in selected Ministries, Departments and Agencies, MDAs, considered possible targets for the insurgents. A suicide bomber, on New Year’s day blew himself up outside a church in northeast Nigeria, leading to several injuries, according to a rescue worker. “There was an explosion outside the ECWA church this morning. The Minister of Health, Haliru Alhassan, on Thursday said Nigeria will be certified polio-free this January.
