The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Ekiti on Monday said it had arrested a police corporal and five other suspects over alleged vandalism. The suspects allegedly vandalised a fibre optic cable belonging to a telecommunication company operating in the country. The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Monday said 15,204 persons have been displaced by the weekend’s attack on Damboa town, in troubled Borno state. Speaking to journalists in Maiduguri, the North-East information officer of the agency, AbdulKadir Ibrahim, said the internally displaced persons were, at present, seeking refuge in Biu and Maiduguri, both in Borno State and Goniri in Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State.
