Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State yesterday sent a letter to the State House of Assembly requesting for approval on the proposed N40billion loan from commercial banks to finance the completion of the ongoing cargo airport project located near Amassoma community in Southern Ijaw local government area of the state. Dickson, in the letter, requested the ssembly’s approval for the state government to stand as a guarantor to enable Bayelsa Airlines to secure the loan. A 27-year-old man, identified as Saturday Aigbedion, has been remanded in prison for allegedly having a carnal knowledge of one Chikere Okereke. The accused was remanded by an Oredo Magistrate Court in Benin City after he was arraigned on a one-count charge of unnatural offences. The Kano State Government has dragged the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and two others over their alleged refusal to provide it with information regarding deductions from its allocations and those of its local governments for the Petroleum Support Fund (PSF).
