The Bauchi State Police Commissioner, Malam Lawal Shehu said on Saturday that one suspect had been arrested in connection with Friday’s attack on an hotel in Bauchi metropolis. Some gunmen, wearing military uniforms, had attacked the People’s Hotel in Bayangari area of the town, detonating explosives and shooting people at random. 10 people have been killed in a Friday explosion in the red light district of Bauchi city, while 14 others were injured, Vanguard reports, citing police sources. The spate of bombings in the country has shifted to Bauchi State as an explosion targeting a brothel in Bauchi metropolis has claimed 10 lives while 14 others sustained injuries. Dr. Tayo Hasstrup, spokesman of the National Hospital, Abuja, on Thursday confirmed the death of one of the victims of Wednesday’s Emab Plaza bombing in Abuja. Hasstrup told the News Agency of Nigeria that the victim, a male, died on Wednesday night as a result of severe burns he sustained in the explosion. “We had eight who were receiving treatment, and two of them were in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit”, he said.
