Plateau State governor, Jonah David Jang has described the insecurity situation in the country as a war situation, describing the perpetrators of the recent blast in Jos as enemies of the country.
Jang stated this in Jos on Friday, while speaking with newsmen after visiting the scene of Tuesday’s blasts at Terminus market that left scores of persons dead.
“The worst kind of war to fight is when your enemies are unknown. Most of those who attack us are from outside Plateau, or even outside the country. They bring their bomb materials from outside and then assemble it in the state,” Jang said.
Information Minister, Labaran Maku had recently slammed northern governors for not doing enough to end insurgency in the north.
The northern governors however replied through Chairman of the northern governors’ forum and Governor of Niger State, Dr Babangida Aliyu, who said if the views expressed by the minister was the opinion of the Federal Government “it is very uncharitable, it is more than unfortunate.”
“Why should anybody accuse us of not doing enough with even the children that were kidnapped and some people are trying to make it look as if nothing happened,” Aliyu asked.
“I am not aware of any governor that has either been invited by the National Security Adviser or the Director of DSS to be told what to do and he did not do it. I am not aware of that.”
