Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that no one will be leaving Real Madrid in the January transfer window, delivering a blow to Premier League clubs hoping to sign some unwanted stars from the Bernabeu.
.
Manchester United were rumoured to be increasing their interest in Fabio Coentrao with a number of sources reporting a deal had been agreed.
.
But the Portuguese international is not on his way to Old Trafford just yet.
.
David Moyes denied that a deal was in place for Coentrao was in place but a need for a new left-back remains a priority for the United manager.
.
Similarly, Arsenal are reported to be keen to bring Alvaro Morata to the Emirates either on loan or on a permanent basis to increase options up front following the season-ending injury to Theo Walcott.
.
The Gunners now have just Nicklas Bendtner, Olivier Giroud and winger Lukas Podolski to fill in up front but with Bendtner injured, Giroud looking fatigued and Podolski returning from a serious injury, it’s left Wenger looking at the January transfer market with a striker in mind.
.
But Ancelotti has poured scorn on the prospect of his players leaving halfway through the season as the Italian looks to close the gap between Real Madrid and joint leaders Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.
.
Speaking to reporters, the Italian said: “No-one is leaving and no-one is coming in,” said the Italian.
.
“We have a good squad. We don’t need anything.”
